VACANCIES FOR CHIEF PRINCIPAL, SENIOR PRINCIPAL, PRINCIPAL, DEPUTY PRINCIPAL, SENIOR LECTURER,LECTURER, SENIOR MASTER, SECONDARY TEACHER I,  SENIOR HEADTEACHER, HEAD-TEACHER, DEPUTY HEADTEACHER, SENIOR TEACHER   

The Teachers Service Commission is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 237 (1) of the Constitution. 

Pursuant to this mandate, the Commission invites applications from suitably qualified teachers for the posts shown below in line with the Career Progression Guidelines

Interested candidates, who meet the required qualifications, should submit their applications online through the TSC portal – www.teachersonline.go.ke so as to be received latest 30th December, 2024.   

Manual applications shall not be considered.

ADVERT NO. 05/2024 (D4-D5): CHIEF PRINCIPAL (REGULAR SECONDARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 15 –44 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT  

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as Senior Principal T-Scale 14 for a minimum period of three (3) years; 
ii. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal and performance contracting process; 
iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; 
iv. Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission. 

ADVERT NO. 06/2024 (D4-D5): CHIEF PRINCIPAL (TTC) T-SCALE 15 –03 POST  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT  

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as Senior Principal T-Scale 14 for a minimum period of three (3) years;  
ii. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal and performance contracting process; 
iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;  
iv. Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission. 

ADVERT NO. 07/2024 (D3 –D4): SENIOR PRINCIPAL (REGULAR SECONDARY SCHOOL) T-SCALE 14 – 126 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT  

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

  1. Have served as Principal/ Deputy Principal I, T-Scale 13 for a minimum period of three (3) years;  
  2. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
  3. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and  
  4. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. 

ADVERT NO. 08/2024 (D3 –D4): SENIOR PRINCIPAL (TTC) T-SCALE 14 – 03 POSTS 

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

  1. Have served as Principal/ Deputy Principal I, T-Scale 13 for a minimum period of three (3) years;  
  2. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
  3. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and  
  4. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. 

ADVERT NO. 09/2024 (D2-D3): PRINCIPAL -SCALE 13 – 652 POSTS 

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –

  1. Have served as Deputy Principal II/Senior Master I, T-Scale 12 for a minimum period of 6 months;
  2. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
  3. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and  
  4. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

ADVERT NO. 10/2024 (D2-D3): DEPUTY PRINCIPAL I (TTC) -SCALE 13 –  03 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

  1. Have served as Deputy Principal II/Senior Master I/ Senior Lecturer I, T-Scale 12 for a minimum period of 6 Months; 
  2. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
  3. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and  
  4. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.  

ADVERT NO. 11/2024 (D1-D2): DEPUTY PRINCIPAL II (POST PIMARY) T-SCALE 12 – 786 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

  1. Have served as Deputy Principal III or Senior Master II T-Scale 11 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
  2. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
  3. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and  
  4. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

ADVERT NO. 12/2024 (D1-D2): SENIOR LECTURER I (TTC) T-SCALE 12 – 13 POSTS 

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as Senior Lecturer II T-Scale 11 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
ii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and  
iv. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. 

ADVERT NO. 13/2024 (C5-D1): DEPUTY PRINCIPAL III (POST PRIMARY) T-SCALE 11 – 1,408 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as Senior Master III T-Scale 10 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
ii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;  
iv. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

i. Have served as Senior Master III T-Scale 10 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
ii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  

iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;  
iv. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. 

ADVERT NO. 15/2024 (C5-D1): SENIOR MASTER II (Secondary SNE) T-SCALE 11 – 02  POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as Senior Master III T-Scale 10 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
ii. Have at least a Certificate in Special Needs Education 

iii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
iv. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers;  
v. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

ADVERT NO. 16/2024 (C4-C5): SENIOR MASTER III (REGULAR SCHOOL) TSCALE-10 – 1987 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as a Senior Master IV T-Scale 9 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
ii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  

iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and  
iv. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

ADVERT NO. 17/2024 (C4-C5): SENIOR LECTURER III (TTC) T-SCALE-10 – 61  POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as a Senior Master IV T-Scale 9 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
ii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and  
iv. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. 

ADVERT NO.18/2024 (C4-C5): SENIOR MASTER III (SECONDARY SNE) T-SCALE 10 – 6 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as Senior Master IV, T-Scale 9 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
ii. Have at least a Certificate in Special Needs Education 

iii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process; 
iv. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers and  
v. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

ADVERT NO.19/2024 (C3-C4): SENIOR MASTER IV (POST PRIMARY), T-SCALE 9  –  2,221 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as a Secondary Teacher I, T-Scale 8 for a minimum period of two (2) years;  
ii. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  

iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers and  
iv. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission.

ADVERT NO.20/2024 (C3-C4): SENIOR LECTUTER IV (TTC) T-SCALE 9 – 70 POSTS 

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

  1. Have served as Secondary Teacher I/Senior Teacher I/ Lecturer I, T-Scale 8 or its equivalent for a minimum period of two (2) years;  
  2. Have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers and  
  3. Meet any other requirement deemed necessary by the Commission. 

ADVERT NO. 21/2024 (C2-C3): SECONDARY TEACHER I (Diploma Teachers in secondary ONLY), T-SCALE 8 – 184 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

  1. Serving diploma teacher 
  2. Have served as Secondary School Teacher II, T-Scale 7 for a minimum period of three (3) years; 
  3. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  iv.   Meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission. 

NB: – FOR DIPLOMA TEACHERS ONLY.

ADVERT NO. 22/2024 (C2-C3): LECTURER I (Diploma Lecturers in TTC ONLY), TSCALE 8 – 7 POSTS

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

To qualify for appointment to this grade, a teacher must: –   

i. Serving diploma teacher 
ii. Have served as Lecturer II, T-Scale 7 for a minimum period of three (3) years; 
iii. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;
iv.  Meet any requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.   

NB: – FOR DIPLOMA LECTURER ONLY.

ADVERT NO. 23/2024 (C5- D1): SENIOR HEAD TEACHER (REGULAR PRIMARY), TSCALE 11 – 254 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

  1. Have served as Headteacher or Deputy Head Teacher I TSC Scale 10 for a minimum period of three (3) years;  
  2. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;  
  3. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and 
  4. Meet any other requirement the Commission may deem necessary. 

ADVERT NO. 24/2024 (C5 – D1): SENIOR HEAD TEACHER (SNE PRIMARY SCHOOL), T-SCALE 11 – 7 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

  1. Have served as Head Teacher OR Deputy Head teacher I TSC Scale 10 for a minimum period of three (3) years;  
  2. Have at least a Diploma in Special Needs Education 
  3. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;   
  4. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and 
  5. Meet any other requirement the Commission may deem necessary. 

ADVERT NO. 25/2024 (C4- C5): HEAD TEACHER (REGULAR PRIMARY), T-SCALE 10 – 1,308 POSTS  

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

For appointment to this grade, a teacher must: – 

i. Have served as Deputy Head Teacher II TSC Scale 9 for a minimum period of 6 Months;  
ii. Have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process;   

iii. Have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers; and 
iv. Meet any other requirement the Commission may deem necessary.
