We have not raised university entry points says KUCCPS

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has refuted claims it had increased university entry points for the 2022 KCSE exam.

The placement institution issued the warning after several social media users reported that KUCCPS had changed the university entrance standard from C+ to B plain and that only male students with 62 points and above and female students with 61 points would be admitted to universities.

KUCCPS has debunked the claims on their official Twitter account and warned the public to be cautious of false information spreading online.

The organization announced that it would only share information regarding student placement on its official website, social media pages, and official Twitter account.

“Beware of false information circulating in online forums. Information on student placement will be communicated officially through this page, the KUCCPS website and official social media pages,” KUCCPS tweeted.

This is not the first time that false information regarding university entry points has been circulated on social media. In recent years, there have been similar claims that have been debunked by KUCCPS.

The organization has urged the public to verify information before sharing it on social media and to rely on official sources for accurate information.
