President Ruto unveils new CS for Education as aged Machogu exits

President William Ruto will unveil major changes in his government at State House Nairobi today at 2 PM.

This follows a series of pressure from ‘Gen Z’ and the public for him to put austerity measures in his government including trimming his huge cabinet and firing those aged 60 years and above.

The current CS Education, Ezekiel Machogu, is aged 68 years and is targeted for replacement in the radical changes set to be announced by the president.

Recently Ruto listed a raft of changes he will take to make his government efficient.

Changes Announced by President William Samoei Ruto are;

  1. Task Force to carry out forensic audit on public debt to be formed.
  2. Funds to be made available for the employment of JSS teachers , medical interns , to support farmers in the sugar and coffee industries, and to finance fertilizer subsidies, despite the withdrawal of the Finance Bill.
  3. 47 state corporations with overlapping roles to be dissolved. Staff will be redeployed .
  4. CAS positions suspended.
  5. The number of government advisors to be reduced by 50%.
  6. Budgets for the office of the first ladies of the president and deputy president are removed.
  7. Confidential budget removed .
  8. Budgets for renovation of government offices reduced by 50%
  9. Public servants who have retired yet still serving to proceed to retirement immediately.
  10. Budgets for the purchase of new vehicles except those touching on security are removed.
  11. Non essential travels suspended .
  12. No harrambees for public servants and state officers .
  13. Reorganization of Government to follow shortly .
