Magoha bans politicians from accessing schools till end of exams

Politicians have been banned from entering into any public or private learning institution until the 2021 exams are concluded.

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha in the ban noted that politicians should desist from holding rallies and or touring the schools until the exams scheduled to start on Monday next week are completed.

While making the strict remarks after inspecting preparation of Kimunyu Primary School class eight pupils in Gatundu South, Kiambu County Friday, Magoha upheld that until all the exam materials are transported to the command and control centre at Embakasi in Nairobi, all schools are out of bounds.

Magoha instead advised politicians to alternatively hire stadiums constructed across the country adding that that the candidates must be allowed to sit exams at a friendly and serene environment devoid of politicking.

The CS at the same time revealed that centre managers who have been consolidated to manage exams elsewhere will be fairly remunerated.

Meanwhile, CS Magoha announced the extension of the construction of Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) classrooms in secondary schools by another week to allow contractors who are yet to complete construction works to do so.

He revealed that so far, about 3,500 classrooms have been completed against a target of 6, 470 classrooms that the government is putting up across the country.
