Circular: Nomination of 2024 KPSEA and KCSE exam invigilators, Supervisors

TO: TSC SUB COUNTY DIRECTORS

NOMINATION OF THE CENTRE MANAGERS, SUPERVISORS AND INVIGILATORS WHO WILL BE INVOLVED IN THE ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE 2024 NATIONAL EXAMINATION AND KPSEA/KILEA ASSESSMENTS

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will administer KPSEA, KILEA and KCSE examination and assessments during the months of October and November 2024.

These examination and assessments are scheduled to start on 22nd October and end on 22nd November, 2024.

The table below highlights the dates the examination and assessments will be administered:

In preparation for the administration of these examination and assessments, KNEC will require the details of all the centre managers, supervisors and invigilators who will be engaged In the activity.

This is to request you to identify, vet and nominate the centre managers, supervisors, and invigilators to be engaged in the administration of these examination and assessments, deploy them into the CP2 system by 11th October, 2024, through the link/URL: http://cp2.knec.ac.ke.

You are requested to adhere to the following guidelines during recruitment:

1) Deploy teachers who are qualified, employed and registered by the TSC. The deployed teachers should be of high integrity and not easily compromised;

2) Supervisors and invigilators should not be deployed to centres that they have vested interest. The supervisors, invigilators and centre managers will be required to declare interest Of the examination centre they are posted to;

3) Centre managers will be required to verify supervisors and invigilators posted in their centres by confirming their details and workstation. They will be required to take attendance on daily basis;

4) The teachers in schools with learners of Stage-Based Pathway will invigilate their own learners. For every 10 learners there should be one invigilator. These invigilators will be required to sign the declaration form like other centres. No supervisor or Centre Manager will be deployed for KILEA Centres.

5) One (1) supervisor should be deployed for every two hundred (200) candidates. No supervisor should be deployed for hosted centres;

6) For every twenty (20) candidates, only one invigilator should be deployed. You are required to deploy invigilators to hosted centres based on the number Of candidates in the examination/assessments centre;

7) Both hosted and hosting centres must have their own centre managers. However, hosting centre manager will be expected to collect and return examination materials from the container;

8) Supervisors and invigilators should not be deployed in a centre they have served in the last two (2) consecutive years. The cp2 system has been configured to bar such teachers from being deployed;

9) Only supervisors and Invigilators who have registered in the cp2 system will be deployed to manage the 2024 national examination and assessments hence have their claims processed;

10) Supervisors and invigilators for KCSE examination must be secondary school teachers;

11) KCSE supervisors will be rotated on weekly basis. The outgoing supervisor must prepare brief handing over notes for the incoming supervisor;

12) Sub-counties that have a challenge with recruitment should write to indication the reason and assistance will be provided.
